| For me the best thing about the Tau are Crisis suits and kroot. I love all the range but the suits tend to be my favorites. I can never see a flaw with them and really no need to change them much. To me the Tau society dictates equality and the Tau are not barbaric like many other races, so no fancy trophy racks, no need for personal glory, etc. I therefore treat the models as pieces of art in themselves adding glorified bases to place them higher above the field of battle. The effect is great and really makes the models appear to be floating. I also sculpt tiny Tau icons here or there just to spice the model up slightly, usually on shield generators. My favorite to date is my commander seen below. I sculpted an icon on his shield and also chopped his arm and repositioned it. It creates a unique pose, as if aiming his plasma rifle. I plan to convert his bodyguard to also have a slight dynamic to their poses making them stick out just slightly from the rest of my battle suits. |
